volume issues on sky+ HD box

I have recently received my install for my new sky+ HD box but I am having a problem with the volume. to be able to hear what I am watching, I need to put the TV volume up a considerable amount. When I then switch to analogue TV, the volume is very loud and I need to put it down.

basically, the volume that is being transmitted out of the HD box is very poor. I have a standard sky box in another room as part of my multiroom subscription and am not having any of these problems with this whatsoever.

I thought the problem was with my old philips tv, but I have just go a brand new sony bravia TV and am still having the same problems.

Has anyone else had the same problems and any advice on whether I can do anything about this?
