Is that balance the balance in your current account at the bank? Its as though there is a pound going back into your account not yet cleared - unless these amounts are overdrawn then it would be them taking another pound!

Have you tried speaking to your bank or card issuer to see what they say - after all these amounts are unauthorised

Glad you have got it sorted - not a bad settlement for the amount you paid. Bet they are making sure your order is perfect for Saturday!

OK. Got my second delivery on saturday. Was on time and they substituted a few items but was happy to accept them.

What i dont understand is they were pinching my money last week and yet this week they still havent taken the money for my shop?!

Should i call them? I'm sure it came out pretty much the next day last time. Its been a week tomorrow

I wouldnt contact them - give them a bit more time - by the end of that bit more time you may conveniently forget that they havent charged you?!

OH MY GOD - They've done it again!!!!

They finally took payment for my last order but they've now taken it again!!! well provisionally anyway. Available balance is £40 less than it should be!!!

Waiting for accounts to call me back in the next half hour so i can scream at them.

I will NEVER EVER use them again.

I think how it works is the they send a provisional request to the bank to check the amount will be authorised when they have picked and packed for you. When they charge for real your bank should realise they are charging and release the previous checking amount. Some banks seem to have problems when the two values differ ie. you have got discounts or there is a price increase and don't match the request to the actual debit and it takes longer to release your whole balance.

You may have the same problem with other home shoppping companies.

I used to shopwith Tesco home shopping and never had this problem even if i did have discounts etc.

Asda say its a problem with their system :o

Just finished writing a scathing letter to customer services.
Money now back in my account but thats too late to make up for the embarassment of not having enough money in my account to pay for stuff and having been looked at like a !!!!!! not having enough money available on my card for my shopping last night

I stand corrected I read someone elses posts about this exact thing and it was thought the bank not realising it had to restore the balance. If it is Asda systems not matching the provision requests with the money they charge then it needs to be sorted out soon and can see why you are angry.
