  • Here is the one he made for DS1 Birthday last year - again we used the asda photo cake as a base ( can you see a theme here...usually get the large one for about £2!!) Anyway DS1 is Beatles daft - he tried to make the outlines from icing but it kept sticking to worksurface so decided to paint it instead

  • I made chocolate fondants yesteday take around 20 mins from start to finish per batch of 9.

On the white chocolate ones we did for some reason the butter and the white chocolate started to separate and curdle. So had to throw it away luckily had extra in anyway :) will take some pics later as they are in the freezer.

    Hi All,

I'm hoping for some advice please if you dont mind? One of best friends is emigrating to Oz in 3 weeks and we are having a farewell party for her and her family. I would love to make a cool farewell cake for them and though about the Oz theme.

Was wondering whether to do an oz shaped cake or a large roasting tin type one with an oz outline?

Want to make thing like kangaroos, boomerangs etc to decorate with but may try to buy plastic figures as have never done any icing work.

To date the most ambitious cake I've done was a pair of boobs for a mates husbands birthday!!

    Thanks in advance,
    Allison.

I've made a few cakes this December :D

    Christmas tree giant cupcake
    163469_10150098711236694_714896693_7314428_7910532_n.jpg
For this one I used the giant cupcake mould. I made three cakes in the top mould, kept one whole and hollowed out the other two and sandwiched with buttercream. Unfortunately one tier fell apart during the stacking so it ended up having only two stacks for the tree top. It still went down very well at my works do though!

I also made curly wurly Rudolph and rocky road cupcakes for a Christmas present for my friend!
