Nope not tried them myself, and now im worried about wasting money on them and moulds to find out they taste 'waxy' as someone else put it.

i wouldnt say they are horrible they are quite nice but they have more of a vanilla flavour, chocolate is just that bit nicer.0

what you have to remember is candy melts are an american chocolate, and in the US the majority of their chocolate tastes more like the low-end cakeblock stuff we get in this county - it no way resembles the cadburys taste we are used to here.
i agree the taste is quite waxy, but not in a yuk way, more its just not what you were expecting (however it prob tastes weird because you expect it to be chocolate, if you were none the wiser, you wouldnt even notice it iyswim)
i would say the taste and texture is very similar to the white chocolate mice, you get in pick'n'mix, so not creamy like the white chocolate of a milky bar. its not that offensive a taste that people wouldnt eat them

Hi
Well made some cake pops yerrsterday for the first time to sell at work today for cancer research, goodness me it took me ages to make them. I made my own sponge and when it went cold I did the crumbs and rolled them into balls. Melted the andy melts dipped my mcdonalds stirrers in to put in the balls then left to set. I decided to make them quite big like code-a-holics but when I went to coat them they fell off the sticks :rotfl:and wouldnt stay on. So had to re roll smaller and start coating the sticks and cake all over again. By this time I was really fed up however they seemed to work and went down a storm. They sold out within 15 mins so all the palarver was worth it. The candy melts were a lot nicer than I expected, I was expecting them to have no taste but was surprised as they tasted like white choc but a lot sweeter, in fact I had 4 left over so coated them in normal choc and prefered the candy melts.
