How good is Virgin Broadband?

Is the threshold the limit you can download like 1500MB for the maximum speed of 10mb?0

We are just leaving Virgin - and only because the house we move to this weekend can't get it thru cable. If you have to use a BT line like we now do Virgin are expensive. We used to pay for 20mb but never got that, dropped it to 10 and was getting 9+ all the time in peak and off peak times! So we were happy with that.Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -

Tonight on a wifi laptop ..4 other PC's online
This is Virgin Cable on the 20mb package.
Good if you have lots of users in the house or are into gaming.0 -
We are on 50mb and have had it about 8 weeks now. Since installation we have only averaged a download speed of 11.67mb and an upload of 1.42mb and a ping of 19 - not that i know exactly what a ping is....
Hubby and I have been on phone to tech support for hours doing tests, changing stuff, downloading there files for accurate speeds and they swear we are receiving 50megs. We have even had new modems, routers and engineers out, its temperamental and sometimes it can go a bit quicker (usually when engineer is here!! then it drags slow again).
However we upgraded with them from a 20 to a 50 and there is NO difference at all in service and speed. We are currently trying to downgrade again as we are paying for something we dont gain from.0 -

Have you checked your computer, alot of customers have only wireless G network cards and wonder why they don't get 50meg. People don't realise how fast 50meg is and you need to have a good wireless n connection or have it hard wired. Also windows xp machines need the tcp setting optimized. I can honestly say 90% of every 50meg connection ive set up gets 50. I occasionaly get a 40meg due to the limitations of wireless.0 -
ONly just read this. Yes we have a G Card and been through lots of test with the computers too but no luck. :-(0
