Moving house issues with VM

Hi,
I'm about to move in with some friends, and we're having big problems with Virgin Media. Essentially two of us have accounts with VM, and neither of us are being allowed to cancel our account to make way for the other one (we've both made account changes within the past 12 months). My friend is being told that we have no choice but to move both accounts to the same property and pay both accounts at the full rate. I, meanwhile, haven't been able to get through to the 'moving team' at all!
My friend has broadband, TV and phone; I meanwhile just have TV, but with V+ HD. The ideal solution would be to have the BB, TV and phone with the V+ using my box (and probably another one) - but no...
Can anybody offer any advice at all? It seems madness - not to mention unenforcable - to literally have to pay twice for the same cable line, but because neither of us are being allowed to cancel that seems to be the only option available - a total rip-off.
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately making changes to your VM acount starts you on a new 12m contract. You can't 'merge' the 2 services, you can only modify the existing account at the new property and cancel the other one, or move the account at the old address over and cancel the other one. Either way you will have to pay early termination charges on one account-just choose the cheapest.
Why is it madness?-you both agreed to new 12m contracts on your respective services and now you want to break that contract on one of them.No free lunch, and no free laptop

The only other thing you could do is as you are going to have to pay for 2 services,is to have a second install into the room where you're going to be living in your name as what is done in student digs.0
