I had MSE for less than 2 days and had to uninstall it due to my PC becoming so slow it was barely usable. Couldn't wait to get back to good old AVG.
Now have a brand new PC and it's got MacAfee pre-installed. Hope it's not as bad as you guys are saying as it came with a free 18 month subscription.
Theres your possible problem. AVG needs its REMOVAL TOOL to be run before installing other av software:idea:0 -

I have put MSE on my lappy to give it a go and have almost forgotten it's there it's so trouble free!
Are you really saying it's not good enough?
I have mbam and SAS and CC which I run regularly too; please don't tell me I need to swap MSE! Please?:rotfl:
Hi Flossy
It may just be me but I thought (would have to double check by going back and searching posts) that recently there were a few posts concerning MSE and problems with viruses, I'm not saying anyone of the three Avira, Avast or MSE are perfect and each have their own faults but as RIK has pointed out Avira comes out on top in dealing with viruses.
I suppose it depends which suits you personally, I'm not going into the ins & outs of each one and that is down to doing your own research which you think suits you best.0 -
What's with all this which is best. I've had computers since Sinclair. Been on the Web since it started. Have used McAfee and Norton - waste of money, got infected with both. Avast, Avira, etc all generally ok. Have used MSE since it came out, no infection, no false positives and no hassle. I intentionally went onto dodgy sites and MSE warned me and stopped infection. Scans with ccleaner and Malwarebytes showed nothing had got through.
Two questions.
1; Why exactly does anyone not like it?
2; If you get infected with MSE (or similar) and a firewall what sort of sites do you visit?A fool may give advice but the one who takes it is the bigger fool.0 -

1 ~ I never said I dont like it. I just prefer Avira (And Avira is definitely above in the tests ive seen)
2 ~ What I do is my business:idea:0
