I'd like to say what excellent customer service I received from Lakeland.

I bought a Ewbank vacuum from them- probably over a year ago, although I lost all receipts. I rang them to ask for help (I wanted either a Ewbank phone number or stockist of a new battery- I suspected the rechargable battery had died). Without query, Lakeland offered a replacement vacuum. I was delighted- but then they rang back, very apologetic, to say that they no longer stocked it. They refunded my money back to my credit card without question!

I could not believe it, and will definitely buy from Lakeland again (and the same cannot be said for Currys and Comet, who have lost my custom forever).

I have dealt with this company for years and have been delighted with most of the products I have bought. The thing I love about them is if you are not satisfied with any thing that you have bought, just give them a ring and they will either replace or refund no questions asked, they are very polite and helpful and you really do feel that you are their only customer they give your call that much attention. There are products that I would not even consider buying from other places as they dont match up to the quality of Lakeland. I would recommend them to everybody.

How I wish more companies were like this!

Brita, the company that makes water filters, is like this. I got one of those filter kettles for my birthday years back. A few months after I received it, the electronic tag system stopped working. I called and wanted to ask if I could get a replacement, and without any hesitation I was offered a replacement. Then last year (so a good 3 years since I received mine), I accidently broke one of the parts, and again called customer service to see if I could buy a replacement. To my surprise, they offered me a replacement, again!!! I wrote a letter to say how fantastic they were, but got no response.

I second and third everything that has been said about Lakeland. They for me are NO.1 at customer service. Whether it's being served in store at the till, asking an assistant for help, placing an order over the phone or ringing customer services for something else they really are second to none. Their customer services are consistent.

I had purchased a can/plastic bottle crusher. The instructions said to use a certain part for crushing cans but my OH went ahead on his own and then broke it. I rang lakeland saying I wanted to order another one as I had broken the original and without question was sent a new one. It was my OH's fault it broke but they still sent a replacement. Amazing service.

You are right Renegade in that they do make you feel special as a customer. It does make you feel like part of their family and I do think their values shine through. Thumbs up all the way. (This is making me crave their strawberry liquorice!! lol)

I agree, we live near their shop and have used it for years and it really is quality service. It shows the difference when a big company is family run.

Lakeland is a haven to me. Everything is good quality, service is simply superb.

If you're ever up in Windermere, make sure that you pop into their flagship store. It's just divine. Their breakfasts are to die for, and they stock everything in their catalogues............. My DH is never bored there as there are newspapers and free internet access to keep him occupied.

I have to commend this store - we bought some stuff online that turned out to not be quite what we wanted. Called their number and got two choices, take all the goods to a charity shop and get a total refund ,(to the card) or return them to the store and get a total refund!!!

We even mentioned how good we thought they had been when we got to the store several months later and someone came and later someone came and found us on the shop floor to thank us on behalf of the call center!!!!!!!

I have had a problem with ordering on line from lakeland, I e mailed them and they told me to let them know when I next wanted to place and order and give them my phone number they would ring me! Excellent I thought so I did just that, unfortunately the lady didnt ring me back. I rang later in the evening ( they are open 24/7) and explained my situation, the lady was very very apolgetic and took my order, they have had their web site updated but are having a few teething problems which are being sorted out, and she would e mail me the new instructions for re-registering to the site and she also gave me #10.00 off my order to compensate for the trouble I have had, there are not that many shops that would do that . I am now one happy bunny, excellent service excellent company.

I have just had a very big airer from lakeland. Came almost as soon as I left the order with them. There is a small broken piece and I rang them. I will have a replacement tomorrow and they will arrange to collect the broken item

Wonderful, wonderful company. I have shopped with them since they made plastic bags in a small upstairs room and it has been a delight to see them grow and grow. They thoroughly deserve their success
