    Hi from another Sussex resident!

A few months back I has GCH installed from scratch in my flat. It included six rads and a 30kw Ideal Logic combi boiler.

I paid £3000 (but paid £2500 all in as I got £500 off from a government grant due to going from electric heating to gas). It was a fairly big job as they did a riser main too from the ground floor to my second floor flat.

I used an Eastbourne firm but happy to pass on their details if you need them.

When you come to chose a radiator make check out the Stelrad Softline, I went for them and they look superb and are very reasonable to buy.

    Good luck!

You let an Ideal boiler be fitted in your home!

    You must be very brave!

Its a brand new model with a full 5 yr warranty, it coped v well over the winter so fingers crossed will be fine!

I didnt have much choice as the approved list of boilers to get the £500 government discount was very limited. I pretty much got it for nothing so cant complain :D

not sure what thread to put this in but had a quote from B.G to put a combi boiler in,four thousand pounds. Our back boiler hasnt died yet and we can get a grant from warm front.Dont really want to go to warm front they are a bunch of cowboys [thats what my brother says].Are getting quotes from some local firms.Nearly forgot, new boiler nearly eight hundred pounds to take out my back boiler nearly eight hundred pounds this cant be right?

You are thinking along the correct lines. Avoid warmfront if possible.

Removing and old bbu takes no more than about an hour. Removing old flue liner could cost more if scaffold is needed.

If you get a small company like me, then it would be about another hours labour and a quick trip up onto the tiles to pull it out.
