With regards to full and final settlement - National Debtline have factsheets on them. Also you need to make sure they give you the correct wording so you can be sure that they or no-one else will pursue you for the remainder of the debt and that your credit file is updated properly.
Definitely make sure you get any offers from creditors in writing before you make any settlements.

I never thought of that, these companies are so sneaky that they probably do chase people who think they've paid it off. Thanks for the tip.

I've just been on the national debtline website and had a look at the fact sheet and also downloaded the template letter. So here it goes, step one of dealing with this head on! Although i'm still not sure what to do about the whole unenforcability thing. I'll have a look through this forum and see what I can find.

However, with regards to my CCA requests, I'm just following the guidelines on here so now i'm really confused and not sure what to do. Do I just give up on the whole unenforceable thing and go back to paying them? I love this site, everyone is so helpful but just at the moment I'm getting mixed views and I don't know who to listen to. Ultimately what I want (what we all want i suppose) is to get rid of my debt as soon as possible so I can get on with living my life.

As for getting mixed views, in my opinion trust the advice of those who have been on here a long time and given trusted advice time and time again over those who have recently come on with an obvious bias against DCA's, CCCS, etc.
