unwanted service message

I keep receiving service messages from cheekey monkey portal, I thought only the phone company can send these. I contacted Virgin but they say they can't do anything about it and to send stop to the number on the text, If I open the text I will probably be charged although I haven't so far.
Anyone got any idea what I can do?

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Thanks darkcontact, I forgot to say there is no number to send stop to just a website address which I presume will download when accessed. The messages are not able to be viewed because they are service messages.
Will try as you suggested Monday.
