I don't think I can advise. If he has said sorry I'm sure he means it. Men make stupid jokes about things all the time, and women naturally take them the wrong way to think he means this or that, when reality it was just a poorly timed joke.

Men, when past 18, generally retain the same level of maturity throughout life, and often when in relationships and living with partners don't have the same output of this immaturity as they did when they were younger. As teenagers we had our friends to laugh and joke with and insult when ever we wanted. This pent up immaturity and need to act grown up when in a relationship sometimes comes out at the most inappropriate times.

Accept his apology and enjoy your holiday.

There's an insight! My OH is 37 and can never take anything seriously, I'll stop waiting for him to grow up then!

Why do you think we still play computer games and still give our friends wedgies when out LOL

Big Hugs Jody. - thought i would pop on here after i saw your status on FB

I really do think you need to have a proper chat with OH about it. Maybe towards the end of your trip away?

It was rather insensitive of him if it was a joke and a bit of a problem if it wasn't if you definitely want more children.

I need to sit down and have the 3rd child conversation with OH soon. A bit nervous as i am not sure myself!!! But i know we need to sit down and dicuss it!! x

Hi all, thanks for your replies, was at college today and couldn't get back on.

I don't want to paint oh as a monster because he really isn't, he just seems to know the exact wrong thing to say. Thanks Adam for your post too, I know men keep their immaturity for years and I know they like making unfunny jokes. The thing is that necause he has said this a few times now I'm starting to see it as much more than that. He text this afternoon to tell me that he loves me very much and that I am his world, I am sure he loves me but it does feel like we have very different ideas of what we want long term.

I can't answer for your OH and neither can I advise you what to do as only you will know what is best for you hun.

However what I can share is a bit of my experiance with OH. If you dont mind me sending you a PM as I dont really want to go into it on an open forum. You may find it of interest to you and see that when they say something it isn't always as it seems xxx
