    Thanks for the hugs.

I just hypothetically asked if he would want to know the sex of our baby if we had one, his reply was he wouldn't need to know because he would be long gone! He wasn't laughing when he said it and its not the first time he has said something along those lines.

What makes it worse is that 5 years ago my ex bullied me into a termination and I spent a long time in counselling because of it, oh knows all about it so it seemed pretty insensitive. Just wonder if its going to be a long term issue for us

Oh no, what a horrible thing to say, especially if he knows this has been a problem in the past.

It could well be a joke (although not a very good one).

Best thing to do, is calmly as you can tonight, explain to him that you didn't find it funny and why you didn't (I know he should know why but he's a man, explain it again!) and then see what he says.

You know him well, so from his answer you should know whether he was joking or not, then you'll know where you stand.

Hope it was just a joke made it bad taste.

I know it will be hard, but try not to let it spoil your weekend away that you've looked forward to so much.

Maybe it's a discussion to have when your away when your both calm and feeling connected as it's just the two of you, keep it light but try and get to the bottom of how he really feels.

Or maybe that's bad advice if you think it will really upset you and ruin the trip?

Sometimes it's just easier to talk when your away from normality x

  • Aww Jody, sorry he has upset you.

Sometimes men can be so insensitive and not even realise that what they say affects you, I'm sure once you talk to him everything will be fine.

On the brightside, not long until Ireland :j
