So Jody are you really really serious about your proposal deadline?
My sister has said to me that she really believes that my OH will be asking this winter...I don't and plus I don't want to get my hopes up incase it doesn't happen...:o
Not sure if you guys have been on my diary lately but my sis announced on Saturday that I am going to be an Auntie
She is due in May and her wedding is in August! Nothing like lots of planning for one year eh?! And they are planning to move house after the new year! VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -

Glad you're ok Woo.
I had a winter wedding and if I was ever doing it again (which I'm not) I would have winter again without hesitation.
I wanted December bit OH couldn't get the time off so we went for February. I would have liked snow but had to settle for glorious sunshine instead, winter sunshine is beautiful. And you're so right, you can't guarantee nice weather in the summer anyway!
It was nice to be a bit different and it was wonderful standing outside drinking mulled wine. The other good things about winter are that because it is less busy things tend not to be so booked up so you can have exactly what you want and also, things can be a bit cheaper. My cousin had a December wedding and that was lovely too. So definitely go for December or another winter month.0 -
Congrats on being an Auntie soon Pennies, sounds like they have a busy time ahead.
Don't get your hopes up, try and put it out of your head otherwise you will be waiting all Christmas getting madder and madder when he doesn't do it!
My OH doesn't want to marry, but for some reason last year whilst in France for Christmas and New Year I thought he was going to ask me (how stupid am I!). Of course Christmas Day and New Years Eve came and went, and I spent the whole time in a strop, with him not having a clue why!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I can see me going home tonight and picking a fight with my OH about not wanting to get married....LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

That's exactly why I am trying not to think about it too much or get my hopes up. I don't want to be disappointed or even expecting it, want it to be a complete suprise and for me to have had no idea it was coming, if that makes sense?!
But sometimes I can't resist looking at my idea of a perfect ring, which I know is quite naughty!
:o
He quite often talks about getting married but never gives me an indication of when it might happen...it's so frustrating!

Congrats pennies, that's great news! I will come over and catch up on your diary before I go away! I am dead serious on my deadline, I think I already know that we will be getting married but it will be nice to make it official. He has 8 months roughly, I think that's plenty of time althought I am 28 and he is 31 so we are old enough to know whether we see it as a long term thing or not!I organise our works Christmas Party for up to 200 people, so I have done stuff similar!
Sold. You are my wedding planner extraordinaire :j.Glad you're ok Woo.

That's what I am thinking - it's out of season technically so would help cost wise, your wedding day sounds lovely.
Very happily married on 10th April 2013
