Hundreds of thousands of seats. One low price.

Summer’s on its way, but the East Coast summer seat special is already here! We’ve got hundreds of thousands of seats on offer on our trains, to a range of great destinations right across the East Coast route – and at only £9 one way (Standard Class), it’s a small price to pay for a big day out.

Catch a show in London, shop till you drop in Leeds, or marvel at the majesty of Durham cathedral. Paint the Toon red in Newcastle, or explore York’s caf! culture…and there are many more fantastic destinations you could be exploring with East Coast for just £9.

Whatever you do, do it fast – because at these prices, these tickets won’t be around forever.

Tips for finding your £9 fare

  • Click through the links in this page and enter your journey details into our booking engine. Where available, the special £9 fare will appear as ‘EC Flat Fare’ in your search results.
  • You’ll have a better chance of getting a £9 fare if you can be flexible with your travel plans and can make your journey outside of peak times.
  • Our booking engine will show you the best available fares for your selected journey, and don’t forget to use our Low Fare Finder and the ‘next day/previous day’ functions to help your search.
  • If you’re planning on travelling to London you’ll find there are more tickets available if you can arrive into the capital after 11.30 in the morning.
  • Saturdays are generally a good day for finding the special fares. There are likely to be fewer tickets on Sundays and also for travel to Scotland during July and August when it is already busy.

He said "cities on the East Coast main line"

    Glasgow isn't.

It was a tongue in cheek rebuke anyway, so no need to wet your pants sailor. :D

Fair enough - on the website it does of course say East Coast route.

I have no idea what "wet your pants sailor" is meant to mean - sorry
