Its not a grabbit but we got a small charcoal kettle barbeque in B&Q earlier today for £25
Have to say I'm quite impressed, its quite sturdy and the kettle barbecues are a good moneysaver as when you have finished cooking you can whack the lid on it and shut all the vents and it goes out almost instantly, which means any unburnt charcoal can be used again next time (I always find it a lot easier to light second time around too for some reason)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

If you wrap the grille section in foil it helps to keep it clean. Then to clean it, soak in a solution of warm water and biological washing powder/ solution and the burnt on stuff should come off easily (works a treat on oven shelves as well.) You can use a scrumpled up bit of foil to scrub it clean, that's quite effective too.
(Have noticed the men like doing the cooking but aren't nearly so keen on cleaning them afterwards!)
Don't clean it. Next time get it hot and scrape off the black with a wire brush and you are ready to go. Better taste too.
Frozen economy chicken pieces in most supermarkets are about £1.40 a bag, Buy a marinade or make you own, thaw, marinade, part roast and then on the BBQ. Works out pretty cheap.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Tesco:
800g bag of frozen Portuguese Sardines for £1.99
They were excellent on the BBQ last night.
They looked like just-caught fresh fish when thawed out, so must have been frozen very soon after catching.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Our local butcher's BBQ pack was £20
4 pork steaks
4 BBQ ribs (these were more like steaks with a little bit of bone)
2 chicken breasts
4 Kofta Kebabs
4 1/4 beef burgers
1lb sausages
This is much cheaper than buying it separately. There were only 3 of us to feed so most of it has been put in the freezer for next summer.:rotfl: ( if we're very lucky we might get another summer in September, it's not been unknown for Scotland to get two summers in one year!
Lovely rain here this morning, was hard to sleep last night it was so hot.
p.s. if you're buying a gas BBQ ask if the gas bottle is included in the price - ours added another chunk on top for the bottle.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

we always always buy tesco value chicken wings , split each wng into 2 so you have the same size wings as you get at all restaurants , we usually get between 20 and 30 wings per box that costs under £2 . cover them in bbq suace and bung them in the oven for 30 minutes .
then when its bbq time just heat them through and crisp them up on the bbq - they are yummy alll the lovely bb taste with no dodgy tummies from undercooked chicken
and also homemade burgers tesco value mince at £2 and some breadcrumbs and onion makes about 10 decent sized burgers.I am journeying to a debt-free life.

I'm having a party in a local country park soon and need lots of disposable BBQ's!
Anyone know any good deals? Bulk purchase offers?0 -

Just used the Poundland disposable bbqs - definitely would not recommend. Only stayed hot for about one hour and very little charcoal in them therefore not much cooking area. Would not buy them again.0
