Trainline Refusing to reissue a ticket via email

poundsy
I used the trainline for the first time to try and save some money. I entered my details after I'd clicked on which ticket option I wanted to purchase. I entered all my details, job done. However it turns out I entered an extra letter in my email address. This was not flagged up at the time as at no point was I asked to verify my email address-if this had been the case I would have realised the mistake immediately. Now my train tickets and also a password request (as I thought I couldn't log on because I had the wrong password) have both been sent to the wrong email address. I cannot get my tickets or access my trainline account. They are refusing to cooperate in any way, by either re-issuing the tickets or refunding the fee. They have been rude and unhelpful, and I'm at my wits end. It has put me off buying anything via the internet.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and managed to resolve it?

Can't you log on the Trainline account with the wrong email address?
Can you set up a new email address, using the one you entered on Trainline site, and then retrieve the tickets that way?
(Just trying to think of other ways to get the tickets)Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
You have two options.
1 Go to an optician to see if you need glasses.
2 Sue your school because it failed to make you able to type or use a computer.
I find their service very good and bloody hell, there was even room on the registration page for your email to be confirmed!

The email that I accidently entered is already in use-I have emailed this person to see if they could forward the tickets but as yet have had no response.
I have also asked trainline to change our account login details but they wont-I can't log in to the train line account as the new password has gone to the wrong email address.
And yes I should have double checked, but I didn't get an email verification page, because if I had, I wouldn't have been able to verify it!!
It's just frustrating as I have paid for the tickets and want to travel on that journey, but have no way of accessing the tickets, and trainline say they can't reissue them.0 -
Why on earth does anyone use the trainline.com ???
Why pay them to do something that the Train Operating Companies do for nothing ????0 -
All the Advance tickets that trainline sell are also available from your local station (as long as it's on the advance ticket network, which some small stations might not be)
They are also available from train operating company websites without the P&P and extra charges that trainline charge.
And sometimes there are TOC-only discounts like East Coast 10% discount on their own fares online.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
The train line doesn't send the ticket over email.. just the details
So, if your tickets are arriving by post - you'll still get them
If your tickets are going to be printed out by a station machine, you just need the code that appeared when you confirmed the purchase. You did write that down, didn't you?0 -

Last year FGW were doing £5 vouchers if you booked through their site - you didn't have to travel on one of their services.0 -

Can you pm me your credit card details so I can take Freda on a superb holiday!

I agree - terrible company. They sold me tickets that weren't valid for the journey I was making. I'd clicked on the outward/return times I wanted, paid up, went to the fastticket machine at the station to pick them up on the day of travel and was told by the guard on the train that they weren't valid for that route. !!!!!!?!
TheTrainline were useless and told me to check the terms and conditions on the tickets. A bit tricky when you only receive them a few minutes before travel, and they should be valid for the journey I select and pay for anyway!
Now I go to the train companies directly..0 -
