How can I capitalise on the disposal of several of these phones-which I seem to have accumulated over the years??

Any ideas/suggestions??
I live inn the 'sticks' and there are no mobile recycling areas around here!

Many thanks!

You could get it recycled through an online site like o2 recycle. They may not give you much for the hanset, but they do donate money to charity for every phone.

Use this to find the best price for them on recycle websites.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • Although do remember these were all mass-produced on a massive scale and are hugely dated by today's standard of mobiles so you will be lucky to get anything for them.

Additionally many of them only operated on two of the UK networks - Cellnet and Vodafone at the time, as they used the GSM900 network. Orange and One2One uses GSM1800 (not to mention 3 using UMITS) so these phones cannot be used on alternate networks other than GSM900 so most 'recycling' companies shun them.

More information about O2 withdrawing this sort of phone is here - http://www.onecompare.com/mobile-news/116/58942673/o2-to-withdraw-first-generation-pay-as-you-go-mobile-phones.htm
  • Not sure if there is any potential for them on ebay and/or gumtree, but perhaps have a look to see if similar ones are selling? I've seen some old Nokia 'brick' phones on there :)
