Bed bugs!! How to get rid of them?

Hello everyone,
We have recently moved into rented accommodation and we have found ourselves riddled with bite marks! We've come to the conclusion that we've been infested by bed bugs. Now we have contacted the landlord but he seems to think it is our responsibility to exterminate them since we recently moved in (and therefore we MUST have brought them in :undecided )
Of course we think it's the landlord's responsibility, but that's a whole other story right now. While we sort that out, we've been looking for some sort of anti-bed bug spray or something to help the situation.
We found this website which seems to be pretty reasonable with its prices: (as I'm new it won't let me most the link - search 'Hygiene Supplies Direct' ) and I've seen a few good things written about the supplier. Has anyone used any of the products on there before?
Cheers

extreme temps is the answer.
steam or carbon dioxide is the only certain way of killing them.
cleaning the bed frame with alcohol is supposed to help. no good for the mattress though.Get some gorm.0 -
Vacuum the mattress thoroughly.0

are you certain its not fleas?
wash the bedding in as hot water ityou can stand
hoover the bed matress
clean the bedframe
hoover the carpet/ or throw out the carpet
i had fleas in my bedroom and despite doing the bedding and stuff i ended up throwing the carpet out63 mortgage payments to go.

Experience in Yemen in 1960s showed that they generally live in bed frames or around tufts on mattresses. Thorough cleaning everywhere should deal with them. If you use hoover remember they will then live in that. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

I knew someone who had the same problem. They even had to strip the wallpaper and skirting boards off to get rid of the disgusting creatures.0

Hi
If you have a divan bed slit the material of base as there may be eggs in there.
I had them in house that I rented out, I replaced carpet and mattress in one room but they were still there and spread to other bedroom as two guys were friends.
We bought a pack which included smoke bombs this kill them instantly and then you use a powder that will kill the eggs. You need to check divan bases, and crevaces of wallpaper corners etc.
Hope this helps

Environmental Health will be able to confirm what the creatures are and may offer free treatment.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

We had bed bugs a few years ago, bought the bloody things back from Florida. Awful things they are
Get in touch with you local council, We did have to catch one of the things and take it to them but once they confirmed what it was they fumigated our house free of charge and we had no further problems.0 -
Thanks for all your help guys
We've ordered some smoke 'bombs' to fumigate them out... if that fails then we'll certainly get the council or Environmental Health to take a look... *scratches* 0
