    previous posters are incorrect.

You are doing nothing wrong, the problem is is that EMM has not been updated for newly registered halifax customers. All people registered for online with the halifax prior to 11/05/2010. Anyone registered after this is now has

    username
    password
    memorable information
    mothers first name
    fathers first name
    place of birth
    first school
    and secret question

I doubt that until EMM update there records which prob wont be until everyone is put onto this new system you wont be able to use it successfully. All customers will eventually be asked to provide memorable information in addition to the security they have already provided.

And you are not getting confused with another bank the memorable infor is requested via drop down boxes.

Alos correct about invalidating any claim against fraudulent activity online if this is used.

that would certainly be the official line because you've given all of your (supposedly) personal details out to a third party.

however whether or not they could prove it, unless you volunteer this information, is another matter entirely

Passwords etc are not given to a third party.
They are stored in encrypted form on your own machine. That may be a breach of your T+Cs.

    old thread i know, sorry.

is anyone else currently having problems with Halifax Current accounts working within EMM?

i mean established long working accounts, not a new one trying to be added.

    thank you.

    Yes it's not working.

Do you get the message about newsummary file not being found?

I have messaged Egg MM and they keep wanting me to "Delete my Cookies" etc. which obviously isn't working, so I will keep pestering them.

    Yes - "C:\logs\halifax\somethingorrather" not found.
Scary that it's trying to accessing folders on my C drive which don't exist, well scary that it's trying to access my C drive directly at all. It should only be using ActiveX's API, which I would hope wouldn't allow access to arbitrary hard drive locations.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Indeed- that file doesn't exist anywhere on my computer so I don't think it is accessing my drive. I think some programmer has done something wrong, then updated Egg MM so it's now looking in some completely wrong place.

Sometimes when websites don't work, I can't help but "View Source", and I see that the code contains links to "C:\Documents And Settings\HotStuff69\My Documents\something.jpg", meaning, of course, that they were testing their website on their local computer and forgot to change the links before uploading it to the web.

Perhaps the same thing has happened here? :D

It's not Egg. It's the software that EMM is based on (from Account Unity - I use this directly rather than EMM or the FD one) - it hasn't yet been updated to deal with the new Halifax banking system. They seem to be working on it though.

I can log into Halifax with three separate IDs - two have been updated to the new system, one has not. The one that's still on the old system continues to work just fine, but the other two aren't picking up correct info from Halifax. Until today, it was only showing the first account, and instead of an account number I was getting the words "view mini-statement". As of five minutes ago, it's showing all accounts. There are still some bits that need sorted - the credit card balances and funds available aren't showing, and the current account balances are still confused - e.g. the account that has 50p in it shows as "£0.500.00". (That did look good a few days ago when it told me I had "£1455.000.00" though LOL) Oh, and when I click to access Halifax on-line banking, it's logging me in and then instantly back out again.

So they are obviously working on it, and it should come right when Account Unity finish updating their software, and when Egg (or FD) update to the latest version.

When I work on software the customer doesn't know about it until I've finished and tested it. I find it strange that Account Unity work on the live system.
