Not at all - at some point - the law was changed to allow complete online applications - from application, through acceptance of credit agreement.
Try applying for an Egg card - you'll find you never put pen to paper for a credit agreement.

We haven't lived there for 6 months and they sorted out our mortgage so they knew we had moved. Hey ho though all sorted.

Apologies, the above is wrong. - I was speaking from personal experience and stand corrected. You don't need to physically sign anything with these types of applications. That is unless you use the system I do to deter ID Theft, where a written signature and print is mandatory. MBNA acknowledge this.
I checked this with MBNA, and MBNA provide 'Signature Packs.
ID Theft - Self Help.
MBNA T&C's:
YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
Once you have signed, you will have for a short time a right to cancel this agreement. You can do this by sending or taking a WRITTEN notice of cancellation to MBNA Europe Bank Limited, PO Box 1004, Chester Business Park, Wrexham Road, Chester CH4 9WW.

So.. your Financial Advisor has applied for something in your name, but you have not signed the form or performed the application on line personally.
I wouldn't like to use a Financial Advisor who did this.. anything else he/she could be doing in your name but which you have not authorised? Doesn't seem to be a sound individual.0
