M&S glass coffee table - spontaneously exploded/shattered

It's a glass thing! Glass breaks when it has been stessed...my windscreen crazed when the morning sun hit it when I was doing 60...no children were harmed. I nipped into a scrappy and sorted...apart from finding glass bits forever and a day in the vents.

i have a nest of glass top coffee tables. last night, sitting watching tv, and one of the tables underneath the main one, suddenly exploded. luckily, as it was underneath the main one, the glass was unable to shoot upwards, however it still managed to cut my foot quite badly. I bought these in DFS just under 4 years ago. Have spoken to them this morning, and they have indicated they dont think there is anything they can do, as tables more than 1 year old. There was no extreme in temperature, nothing put on it, nothing dropped on it, it hasnt actually been used or even touched for months, so i dont feel this is acceptable. I am really uncomfortable about keep the others now, in case the same thing happens again.

I have had the same thing happen only last week during the night one side of the Glass Coffee table i bought from M&S three years ago cracked from one side to the other. I was confused as we were all in bed when it happened just like everyone else on here. I will ring M&S and seek a refund. They should recall this item before someone gets hurt.

Who in their right mind would place a TV on top of a glass table ? A TV stand, fair enough, but a coffee table ?
