Co-op Cashminder: paying in cheques via Post Office

Any advice greatly appreciated as bank and post office seem clueless!

In short I paid a cheque into my cashminder account via the post office on tuesday morning (today is now friday). According to Co-op website this should clear in 4 days (today). However it hasn't and it's not appearing on my online banking as having been paid in either.
Has anyone used this method before and if so how did it all work?
Many thanks.

Cheques take 5-7 working days to clear. If you are concerned, I would contact the Post Office where you paid the cheque in to double check if it takes longer, given that you paid in there as opposed to Co-op.

    Thanks Zipp,
I have already been in there and they couldn't help.
Co-op need to update their website as they are still showing 4 days!!!
I was most concerned about it not showing up on online banking (even though not cleared), as that is what happens when you pay in at the branch.
Anyway, the sun is shining so no stress!!!!!!!!

If you are worried, I'd give the cooperative a ring on 08457 212 212 to see if they have any further info. Did you take a paying in reciept at the PO?

I have called Co-op twice today zppp.
Words 'chocolate tea-pot' best sum up the calls.
So I guess it's a waiting game now as no-one is willing to help after 4 days.
    Enjoy the sunshine!

Oh and yes I have PO receipt, just doesn't say how much like the branch.
  • I've given up paying any cheques for my Co op account in at the PO, they can take up a week and a half to be credited to my account.

I wouldn't worry as it will be on it's way but if it was money you needed urgently it's a problem. I can only guess that the PO branches send them off weekly so they take ages to credit.

I find it quicker to post them to the Co-op. They'll provide you pre-addressed envelopes if you ask

Can I ask why you aren't actually depositing the cheques in branch?

Probably because there aren't many Co op bank branches around.

They are supposed to send them off daily - occasionally they forget/don't do it in time for that day's post.

Hi, I have 2 very young children and a 3rd is imminent (any day soon!), and as mentioned there is no local co-op. Plus the website says 4 days for post office and 5 for branch.
Day 7 now and still no sign (just checked online). Bit of a pain as money was from my nan to buy a crib.
    Oh well, back to waiting!!!!!
