In April I checked my online account with Orange and saw i was in Credit by some £40 so i called Orange and they told me that a Payment had been made by Credit Card and i told them it was not me or anyone i know so they said they would try to track the payment and call me back which they did and told me that they could not find out who it was as it was the 1st time the credit card was used with them.

Orange told me that whoever paid it may have got 1 number wrong in the orange account number.

So I have got my May Bill and its only £6.50 as the other payment has gone of it so do i just pay what they are asking £6.50 or what?

I know they may never track the person who paid the bill but dont want to get into trouble with them over it even if i have told them about it a few weeks ago.

Any Advice please.

Pay the amount that you have been invoiced.

    then go to the pub.

Am no legal expert but in your situation I'd write to Orange, confirming that you've contacted them about the irregularities on your bill and that their advice is just to pay the amount you've been billed.

Hopefully that will then cover you if anything goes awry later on.

Having said that, in my personal experience, Orange are very unforgiving about monthly payments/invoices. An old SIM of mine - not used and forgotten about (we moved abroad) for years was then used without my knowledge (clocking up a bill of £600+ in one month ). Orange were no use at all trying to resolve the issue. They just took a very strict 'the bill is in your name so you're responsible' tact so, on that basis, my guess is that whoever has paid your bill will get short shrift if they try and reclaim the monies. To be on the safe side though, would be a good idea to make sure you're putting aside whatever you normally pay every month.... just in case! ;)
