I need help!

We got engaged in January and started planning everything for November with provisional bookings. Unfortunately we then lost our jobs, the wedding kind of went on the back burner and I just assumed at some point we would agree that the wedding would go on hold or be rescheduled.
We've just found out that a family member isn't too good and OH wants the wedding to go ahead for November but closer to where we grew up.
We've got new jobs now but the pay structure is totally different and with us being out of work our savings have completely dwindled.

We definatley want to get married in a church, OH wants a function room to ourselves for the reception so a pub lunch is out.

I just feel so helpless, I don't think we'll have enough to get the wedding we want and I don't want it to feel like it's a rush job just for this person, it'd make the day sad, you know?

I'm putting together a list of what is essential, necessary and out. Can anyone think of anything to add on it, some bits are sorted and I'm meeting with a reverand next week too..

Decide on your guest list and cut out hangers on (eg workmates, partners of friends etc).

It may sound strange but hop onto the DFW board and take part in the make £10 a day challenge and put that money away.

See what you can make or get someone else to make You can still have a wonderful day on a budget.

Could you not try and see if you can get one of those £1000 weddings? You could get married in church, then have the reception for a grand if it has to be a "do", I reckon you could do the whole thing for under £2-£2500 if you want the whole traditional wedding experience.

Angel we're looking oldham/manchester kind of area. I was thinking about trying to find somewhere to hire that provided a kitchen too as we have a chef mate and it would cut the cost of food as we would only be paying at cost. Only place I've seen so far is maine road but I think that will be so expensive
    I have shoes,
The dress should only cost for alterations and maybe accessories tiara/veil if needed
I have the stuff for invites
I have a list at around 50 people for guests, this would probably be for the whole thing maximum, and also maybe quite a bit less
    Button hole/bouquuet aren't definate yet

Jackie do you know if there are a few chains doing this as the one I found isn't near me?

    Horace, great suggestion.

    Thank you all

something a bit different. you can rent the whole barn (sleeps 24) is a lot of money at weekends but seems like it is flexible during the week. so maybe rent this for one night midweek and get the food done there and celebrate there and go to a nearby register office/church in the morning.
