Data protection issues.

out of a total of 22 staff I am the only one who has questioned this(my ids not up yet as I haven't given it in)
I must point out the manager and his wifes I.Ds are up there too!
I was beginning to question my own sanity.

I wouldnt even ask, i would just pull the whole lot off the wall and either shred them or burn them in the pub yard, with him in the middle of the pile, what a pillock.

I can. Think of a pub draped in St George cross flags. It is delivering a message to the customers about the racial origins or the immigration status of the staff. Probably in contrast to some competing pub with Polish staff or similar.

Sorry, what do you mean by this? Are you insinuating someone is being racist in some way by displaying these documents?

Whatever the thinking, and whatever the nationality or immigration status of the staff, display of even copies of ID documents where they can go walkies is bang out of order.

I thought I was being quite plain. To put it another way, it looks like the manager is trying to position the pub as a local white pub for local white people. He cannot have a sign outside saying 'local white pub for local white people', but he is trying it on at the expense of his employees' security by displaying the passports as evidence that the staff are local white people.

Eh? Since when did the OP state that the employees are all British and/or white?

Never did. The point is made in reply to the question as to why the ID info is on public display. It is a hypothesis.
