Misold a car ,faulty turbo. And lying Salesmen
Comments

Update to say we took the car to to Audi who confirm the turbo is faulty.
Didn't have to pay for the inspection.
Took it back to dealer straight away who are prepared to repair at nop cost to us (only because the warranty booklet we had was unexplained and unsigned by us at point of sale)
They want to fit a reconditioned turbo (because its cheaper for them )with a 12 month warranty on the turbo.
Are reconditioned units any good ?
Should we be pushing for a NEW turbo fitted and extra warranty on that ?0 -
You could try Trading Standards but if they want to argue the point, fix it and you have a "good turbo", "normal" car etc at the end of it (even if turbo is reconditioned) I doubt that you'll get any further than that.
You could however try the threat of either it's a new turbo or you "reject it!", return the car & demand a refund (vehicle is not as it was described to you or of satisfactory quality) & see what happens. Good luck0 -
In light that the car had originally done 80,000 miles and is nearly 4 years old when bought, I think it could be argued that a new part may be more than the seller is required to fit (on cost grounds) and a reconditioned part may be considered an replacement closer to the original.
If you don't ask, you don't get though.0
