Cancelling virgin Media

Hi,
I'm thinking about canceling my virgin media, I currently have phone, tv and broadband with them.I think I had the products delivered on the 25/26th march(2010), I installed them myself to save time. In choosing to do this I did not have to sign a contract on the spot and was sent one in the post, I did not sign and send it back to them as I completely forgot to do so.
I wish to cancel as the channels I am paying for are rubbish, I have taken the xl package and to upgrade they said would cost me another £50 something a month, which is just ridiculous.
I took the offer where it was 2 months free, I have received 1 bill so far so that was one month and now they are saying the full price is due next month as it is billed a month in advance, I do not see how this can be as I am loosing out on a free month.
Is there any chance of me getting out of the contract as I did not sign anything.
sorry post is a bit long, its my first one.
any help much appreciated

Ok I'll go first, no chance, a verbal contract is as good as a written one, you have also used the service which shows you agreed to the contract0

Contract with VM starts as soon as a service is activated when the engineer or customer gets the Hit doen to the box.
