Virgin £8.50pcm deal - contract expires soon - what happens next?

~16-17months ago I signed up to the Virgin £8.50pcm deal (100mins and 100texts). This had a contract length of 18months so will expire soon.

I sent Virgin a webform asking what would happen to my tariff (would it be replaced by another tariff? would I have to sign-up to a new deal?).

This was about 1week ago, and they haven't bothered to reply (I will be sending a new email to them later today asking the same question).

Last night I rang Virgin customer service and was told that I could
a) Sign up to a new deal
OR
b) Continue on the current tariff forever.

Something tells me that (b) is just plain wrong. I find it difficult to believe that Virgin would allow me to continue on this tariff, when they could just as easily bump me to the next nearest one (£10 pcm for 24 months=£15pcm for 18months) or make me go back onto PAYG.

I remember seeing a loooong thread on this board dated Feb 2009 about this tariff so I suspect I ain't the only one here who must be coming to the end of this deal.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

SteveO.

All that's happened is you've finished the minimum term (18 months) after that the contract carries on as a month on month rolling contract until you either, upgrade or leave.

The above said is true it will just continue to roll on

However one thing to mindful of is that if your last deal was at a loyalty or discounted rate there is a likelihood it will revert back to the full amount once the contract has expired.

Your best off trying to negotiate a new deal before the time comes just encase
