  • Oh you poor thing, it's a terrible time when you are waiting for results. I was told that a mass in my abdomen was ovarian cancer which had spread to my bowel and although I did have to have major surgery there was no cancer, only a harmless ovarian cyst and peritonitus from a ruptured appendix. Any abnormality on a scan has to be investigated to rule out a malignancy but hopefull yours will turn out to be nothing very bad. As regards your child doesn't it just reinforce that we should all make a will and make our wishes known. See your solicitor and get everything sorted out the way you want in after talking to your partner then you will know you have done the best you can for him. I will be keeping everything crossed for you and hope you come back on soon and let everyone know that you are fine.:)

You can make your wishes known about what would happen to your child if you died but, as I understand it, there is no legal obligation for your wishes to be complied with. As your OH is not a blood relative of your son, it would be up to Social Services to decide whether he could stay with him. The chances are they would allow it but do you want to leave it to someone else's judgment?

Are you married to your current partner or would you consider doing so?
