BA Strike back on

Unite union back in court today to appeal & confident of winning.

One judge has already allowed their appeal, waiting on the other 2 to decide.

I wonder if Cameron & Clegg in their civil liberties crusade will support the democratic right to strike and condemn the original courts interference on a petty technicality.

De minimis non curat lex.

update...

Unite win appeal by 2-1, so strike back on.

I'm not in favour of the strike but really glad that the court has got out of the way on what appeared to be a minor technicality.
    I think....

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I can't stand that lefty scouser who seems to think that trashing the future of the company who already face massive external pressures to get a few minor concessions for 'his members' is more important than them pulling together to all keep their jobs during desperate times.

Someone really needs to tell him that Thatchers not in power and the war's over.

It's good news, the original verdict was idiotic.

Hopefully, the unions and BA management will act like adults, and negotiate between themselves so most of this strike doesn't take place.

the merger won't happen and if it does Iberia will get the best deal from it.

why would they want to merge with a British pension fund that flies planes as the source of income.

I doubt if the landing slots at Madrid are 10% of the value of those at Heathrow.

One pair of landing and take off slots have been valued as high as £30 million.

Perhaps the state (who arguably 'own' them) could sell them off to the highest bidder.

If they carry on as they are, they'll simply bankrupt each other. The workers won't keep their apparently cushy T&Cs and the board will lose their share options and high incomes.
