hi,
I need to leave wanadoo as theyre too expensive and I need to save some money. I was considering fast4 but from what ive read on another thread they dont seem very reliable, especially in the evening. So, anyone know of a reliable, cheaper than wanadoo, anytime package. Ive been considering Tesco, does anyone know if theyre any good?

I CAN'T SPEAK FOR ANYONE ELSE BUT I'VE SEEN AN IMPROVEMENT IN fast4's SERVICE OVER THE PAST WEEK.Plenty of mistakes, but no regrets.0

I'd say Tesco's internet access pricing is fairly similar to One Tel's which I've always considered pretty good. The advantage with Tesco is you can earn club card points.0

ravenloony give Fast4 a try. It is on a month by month basis so you can't lose really. I have been with them now for over 12 months and most of the time they are excellent."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

Im really considering fast4 cos I could deal with only getting on during the day, hubby would go mad if he couldnt get on at night cos id changed isp though. Mind you, its worth a try to save some cash! If it ends up not being any good then I'll try tesco cos the clubcard points always come in handy! Thanks everyone!0

Hello!
Hmmm...well i've had Fast4 for about 2 years now...and although they've been pretty good ...trying to connect on a sunday evening or Monday evening can be a problem...they've improved recently.... so mostly now it just takes a few tries before u can connect, so no real problem.
The one thing that i could really do without, is the 2 hour cut-off period - tho u can re-connect again straight way - its just a pain to get cut-off when you're in the middle of a download. (i'll be glad to get my 1/2mb connection)
Customer service is very good (when their open)0 -
thanks for this Lightwave, think i'll give it a go! dont mind the 2 hr cut off cos it reminds me of how long ive been on this thing!!0

you're right - though initially annoying it's probably actually a health and safety device ... I've got a pain in my neck and my feet have gone to sleep and I'm still sitting here!!0

np...
Also its only £6.99 a month and setting up and cancellation is so simple......tho i think it goes upto £8.99 after about 3 months or so (but then u just cancel it and re-sign up again to get £6.99  hehehe)
Edit:
They may of scrapped the £8.99 increase...dunno yet...i was paying £8.99..but have just re-signed up again...so i'm back down to £6.99....when i rang customer service the bloke said it would be £6.99 for the forseeable future...so...either they've scrapped the increase...or...they introduce it by stealth......but if they do, just cancel and re-sign up ...either way its still a mega cheap connection.0 -
I think you will find that the £6.99 rate is permanent now!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

Hi,
.
This is interesting as a friend of mine wants a cheap connection.
I was with the 'big brother' V21 for a long time before I switched
to broadband and was very happy with the service.
I also notice that another 'sister' site apart from fast4 is
https://www.flexi-surf.co.uk and offering 60 hrs per week connection
for £5.00.
This is very good and I am going to look into it a bit further
on behalf of my friend.
