more jailbroken secondhand iphone help please?!

morning ,

i have just recieved my secondhand , jailbroken , iphone 3G. Now it has cydia and tom tom on there that i would like to keep BUT i'm trying to sync it with my itunes and the only option it's giving me is to wipe it and put my stuff on instead? is there anyway round this? i've tried transferring purchases but it won't as i'm guessing they are third party apps not official itunes ones.

or thinking about it , will the third party apps stay on if they're not recognised by itunes?

Install 3.1.3 firmware then re jailbreak with spirit (google spiritjb for details)
once that is done open cydia and add cydia.hackulo.us in sources then open that and install the installous package.
The green installous icon will appear on springboard click that you will then be able to install any app for free from there.

lol , i am downloading the new 3.1.3 but just wanted to sync my stuff onto it so i've got my music and contacts on etc.! and yes i am a redhead so proved your theory right as i'm getting mad now! it's wiped the stuff of the iphone apart from 3rd party apps and cydia but it's not putting my stuff on?! agghhhhh!

right ok, i've put 3.1.3 on and it'll sync my contacts but none of my apps or music from my itunes?! how do i get them on???? i've haven't re jailbroken it yet as i'm not too bothered about that at the min , i just want to get all my music and apps on.

hehehe some people have gaydars I have to have a redar. Ok quite often after an upgrade especialy as it was previously jailbroken it sees it as a restore and sets itunes to defaults, so you have to have phone attached and click on it in ituns and set each section to sync. at work atm so I can't use itunes but any probs I can guide you later.

crossed fingers , i think i've done it. i tried everything , clicked each section etc. and it was saying it was syncing but doing it really quick and not putting anything on so i did a full restore , which has just finished and i chose to restore it from the back up file of my old iphone. I'm syncing it again now and , touch wood, it seems to be adding things! i'll keep my fingers crossed everything goes on. what a ball ache , i don't think i'll bother upgrading again! lol

I had a wave of braveness and jailbreaked it! and it's all ok , shame i had to loose the tom tom and other bits and bobs that were already on the phone though but i got there in the end. just mooching on cydia now. Thanks very much for your help :-)

dont worry you can get tomtom back or any other paid app for free if you follow my instructions in previous post.

any prob;ems pm me and will guide you through process of adding the source and getting tomtom
