Topman

I have recently emailed them due to being quite outraged at their levels of service.
il paste the cope of my email ... havnt had a response as of yet but i sure hope i do.
doubt theyl do anything about it though.

Dear Topman
I am writing because of a frank disgust with some levels of customer service withing one certain store in Manchester. This is the store on Market Street manchester town centre.
Today for the THIRD time I have experience terrible service .. I never planned on emailing and complaining until today when I decided I have had enough and I think Topman shouldnt be letting this happen to valuable customers in store. Especially when there are so many other rival chains in Manchester which the bad customer service could drive customers such as myself too.
Okay . The First Terrible service I had was in January . I bought a pair of Golden Hitop trainers , on 50% sale making them £35 having been reduced from £70.
On entering the store I asked for them in my size which is a size 11 , I got told they didnt have them in that size but the lady I spoken too never bothered to look. I asked her if she could look in the back but she refused and said they didnt have them.
Because of this I asked another member of staff , She was very helpful and went and got them for me right away... But then I had to pay for these shoes and at the cashier was the woman who refused to look in the first place. She simply sneered £35 please at me . pushed my change back into my hand and I left the store

2nd occasion of unsatisfactory service from topman. March time I popped in to see what deals were on , Ended up buying only a hat . at the checkout I had a cashier with the verbal skills of an uneducated moron. He was talking to his fellow colleague on the next till about how he was " going to get proper !!!!ed tonight " and " bang some girls " .
Now I know topman like to send the image of being the cool now thing and so the atmosphere within topman is a little less tense than other shops. But I personally find this type of behaviour disgraceful.

3rd occasion which was today ! I went into store to purchese the mens Nouvelle Shirt i seen online as I like it , I asked them if they could direct me to the shirt as i spent 10 minutes looking to no avail , The response I got from the worker ( who was simply stood on the end of a clothes rack doing nothing ) was " It will be on one of the tshirt racks "
Thats right ... thats what he said ... One of the tshirt racks ... Topman has 30-50 racks instore and his general ignorance , unhelpfulness and rudeness is totally out of order.
I ended up not buying the shirt I wanted to buy because of this.

I am so annoyed to have to email a store because of terrible service .. once i could pass off as a one off , twice i could possibly forgive due to liking the store but 3 times its disgraceful.
I would like to know what topman intend on doing about this as I genuinly feel like I will not be shopping in that store again.

Thank you for your time.
Regards
Ryan Winson

I would scrap that and start again, a complaint is never good unless its calm and polite.

Your just as bad as them otherwise and i doubt theyll even entertain it enough to read to the bottom.

Some bits are highly irrelevant so stick to absolute facts. Keep it polite and just ask that they look to better train their staff on customer service.

Also keep it short and to the point, nobody wants to read a long rant (i realise this is the board for it but its not good in a complaint)
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Hmm, you receive terrible service there and yet you go back for more?

Consumerism is all about shopping with your feet, what will Topman care considering you still shop there and spend money?

If you receive bad service in future, make a fuss in the store and make your point there and then and leave. It's much more embarrasing for their shop staff to go through that in front of other customers; and to be honest, it's much more satisfactory than a £5 voucher that they normally issue for you to go back and spend it at the same store!

Did you ask to speak to the supervisor/in-store manager at any point? I'd suggest going back and having a word with someone higher up in the specific store as you can mention what the members of staff involved look like and they're more likely to be disciplined. If you send a general message to head office it'll get lost into the depths and the bad customer service will probably continue as I doubt anyone will contact the store in question and mention your complaint.
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

I used to frequent that very branch, I too found the service had gone to the dogs, I never bothered with an email to management, but I did take my service from elsewhere, quite a shame, as I used to regularly buy clothing from them (weekly} and would happily spend quite a large portion of my money there.

No big loss to them, but even less of a loss to me, as I found certain other stores were not only cheaper, but service with a smile and a willingness to please the customers.

They sent an automated reply when i sent my email last night saying that they would be getting back to me within 24 hours. its now been 26. no reply. so i have emailed them asking for a reply but i made sure i was calm about it and rewrote the message incase they didnt get it but this time in not such an aggressive fashion.

Do you want compensation or better service?

At the end of the day, you've shopped there, you've said you wont shop there again (except to use your 20% off I suspect) and you've been served by a bunch of hungover students that work there part time and frankly couldnt care less if you go there or not. I

'd drop it and either shop there or don't. Don't keep moaning at them to get compensation- they aren't stupid.
