Better to use ATM in the USA than get money in UK?

Hi due to the global alliance thing barclays have with bank of america in the US,is it better to get the dollars (no 2% fees) out of an ATM there or get cash here and take it or is the rate you'll get on the £ there make no difference? say for eg; if i get 140 usd out will it cost more than 100 gbp out my barclays uk account?
