Well, i went to the library, typed the letter, sent it off and now i'm ready blow £2.59 on as many cans as i can get to celebrate.
You never know i might be able to get a printer in a few months thanks to our flexible friends in the bank.

I have exactly the same scenario with MBNA.
Postal non advisory sale in 2001!
I am struggling because MBNA have sent a letter not up holding the claim but they haven't put the copy of the application form in as promised!
I just can't remember or imagine what I was thinking of when I signed that form all that time ago. I clearly had no need for it as work (NHS)covered me for sickness
When it arrives I will send all my info to the FOS - I will remain optimistic .......
Good luck
I will keep you posted0 -

Although recent posts have said that the FOS have been rejecting complaints now with that reason as long as the PPI still would have paid out. Early complaints succeeded with it but things seem to be moving on.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. How would I know if the MBNA PPI would have actually paid out in the event of me having sick pay from the NHS as well. Would I have got both?
Incidentally I have at last received the photo copy of the application form with ticked box - About 3 lines above the ticked box and signature I put my occupation and that I worked for the NHS - cant miss it.
Thank you for your comments - very helpful0 -
Hi,
Sorry if this has been discussed elswhere or before. I have had a ppi claim not upheld by tesco bank because they say- I filled out a postal application and that I had an option to tick a box and sign for it- with no pressure etc- that they will not offer a refund. Ok so i was daft enough to tick and sign but is it worth going to FOS? If so how would I approach the new claim?
Thanks for any help.0 -

Ask them. if they say no it wouldnt then you have the answer as well as the name, date and time of the person you spoke to telling you that. It gives you everything you need to complain. If they say yes they would then you know that complaint reason is likely to fail and you save yourself time.
You tend to find credit card PPI and loan PPI will pay out as long as the payment goes directly to the debt. Mortgage PPI rarely pays out (although old ASU plans often will). Most Mortgage PPI pays direct to your current account (not all).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. You have no grounds for complaint based on what you have said as it was not sold to you and not sold incorrectly.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). How will I know they are telling the truth? Where is it written down? Are the terms and conditions the same now as they would have been in 2001? Do I ring the Customer advocate office or shall I just ring a normal enquiry line and not say who I am to start off with - sorry you must think I am dim. I really appreciate your help!!
I would be ecstatic if they paid off some of the card!!0
