Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Thursday 20th:D May.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning all, looks like a nice day again :T, have had to go out and water my pots each night this week, everything is so dry already.

Off to work today, so a quick tidy round before I go, fish fingers chips and beans for tea tonight :D, and sainsbugs are delivering.

Last night I did a wash and hung it on the line, its still there now, so should dry ok today, made a batch of twinks, and dd came home from school asking if she could make cakes for her friends birthday, so we made a bacth of fairy cakes, and decorated them with pink icing and sprinkles :D, she will take them into school tooday.

Jackie G I hope your backside is ok hun, I would offer to rub it better, but somehow I cant bring myself to :D

OK better get on, have good days all xx

Good Morning Redruby & all to follow

Overcast here at the moment but mild, yesterday was a glorious day, ended up not doing a lot of office work :( but enjoyed the sun instead:j

DD's orthodontist appointment went better than expected and hopefully the brace will be coming off in September :T then popped to Netto as they have motorised can & jar openers for £10. Bumped into my Dad in there and we had lunch. When DD came home from school we went to a lovely park nearby with the dog and had a picnic of chips and icecream. Was moneysaving as the small portion of chips fed us both & the dog was given a free sausage :rotfl:

Don't know if anyone is interested but from Monday Netto have 7 litre Halogen Ovens for £29.99, think will have a look online and see if that is a good price.

Today - am out for lunch with someone I havn't seen for a long time. Cheap pub that you can have a main course and a dessert for a fiver. This morning will try and get as much paperwork as possible done and ironing tonight.

Best get going, have a great day.x

Looks good weather wise here again today. Yesterday was glorious, makes such a change and seems to improve everyones mood :D
Had a good day yesterday DD was all better after her fall although at 9.30 last night she was sick all over her bed, floor and herself. Got her in the shower and cleaned up everywhere and put her back to bed. She came through to our bed at 12.30 and was sick there too!! No school for her today and no coffee with a friend for me this afternoon!
WM already got 2nd load in!
So just a relaxing day here. Am hoping to get all the housework done as the weather tomorrrow is supposed to be even nicer:T
Hope you all have a great day

Good Morning chums ,school run this morning then back home for some pottering today I am starting a cold I think, so will dose myself up with jollop to kill of the bugs.Bit grey looking at the moment.
Last night my gorgeous grandson Danny popped in to see me with his girlfriend Chloe. He's a lovely lad and kept me in stitches about his job at Endemol
He starts at Elstree next Monday on the production team of Big Brother and is really looking forward to that .He loves it when he is off filming on location as he gets to jaw to the camera and lighting chaps .
Chloe has re-applied to join the Police force, its what she has always wanted to do but they only have two 'windows' a year on the force she wants to join so its fingers crossed for her.

I have just read about the Governments new scheme to recycle radio's to get folk to buy the new digital ones.Great idea ,only problem is, I live only 40 miles from central London, yet in my area there is a 'black spot' for the digital signal We can't get 'freeview' here either so I'm not sure how I will be able to listen to my beloved wireless once the signal is switched off I can get it through my T.V. via the cable system in the sitting room, but my wireless is a small one in my kitchen and its where I like to have it on when I am cooking . Be a blooming nuisance if I can't listen to The Archers on a Sunday morning anymore whilst baking.Oh well time to get a wriggle on and have a shower and some breakfast
    have a good day everyone

Morning everyone - hope you're not feeling as bad as me Jackie O! I've been nursing my youngest who had croup and now am feeling (and looking) like death warmed up! Have found the fantastic Organised Home website which I'll be spending most of my time on today! Had been looking for something like this and you lovely people on OS pointed the way (via Owens post - on the main menu!)

Have to start thinking in earnest about DSs party on Saturday - 20 little boys for 2 hrs at home. And have to make a salad for this evenings pot luck supper. So I'm off shopping after the kids are at school. Have a great day all xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all

Dull and overcast but still quite warm here. Wanted to get all my washing dry on the line - some of the clouds look a bit grey in the distance.

Had lovely roast chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes (not for me), carrots, broccolli, peas, green beans, yorkshires and gravy followed by rhubarb crumble and custard - rhubarb was a bit tart - so needed an unhealthy amount of sugar - but I only had a spoonful of crumble. Tonight we have the leftover chicken with rice, and bits from the fridge and if needed some prawns.

Will do my housework and any ironing that needs doing, will also do shopping list and menu for next week. WTC have put some more money in my bank today but still had no correspondence but am hoping that the amount they have put in today is my new award as Thursdays is normally the day I get it. Going to put washing out and hope it drys so I can get another load in the WM. Think I'm going to go to the scales this morning - haven't been very good so am not looking forward to that!

Not much OS to report, have a good day everyone.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning All :hello:,

Bright and sunny here and a shade on the warm side too! Had cause to seriously review my decision to bring my jacket to work this morning :rotfl:

Was not impressed with DH last night. I had put on the immersion for me to have a bath, and forgotten about it, so there was more than enough hot water for all sorts of things. DH decided to go in the bath whilst I was studying for my theory test, despite knowing I was due to go in in 15 minutes and he used ALL the hot water  telling me that there was barely enough for him!!!! Cue me getting up extremely early this morning and making sure I dropped a couple of things in the shower to wake him up!

OS wise today, I am cooking chicken paprika for tea tonight. It's a recipe from one of my mum's "Slim and Healthy" books so I need to make sure I give DH plenty of carbs with it otherwise I can see him disappearing with his metabolism! Although, perhaps at the moment him disappearing wouldn't be a bad thing :D:rotfl: just kidding!

Hope everyone has a nice day, hugs to those in need/want xx

    Morning All!
DD, SIL and myself are taking Imogen up to my Mum's grave today. DD wants baby to meet her Great-Grandma. Haven't been there since her anniversary (January) as it's a two hour drive both ways, and too far for me to drive. Not taking Dad, as he finds it too hard. He's going to France today with friends instead.

Went to the tanning shop yesterday, as I'm trying to get a base coat before we go to Tobago. Then guess what? I sat on my deck in a sleeveless dress, and.............got burnt! Completely forgot the sun screen, and got burnt shoulders and chest.:rotfl: What an idiot am I?:o

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day.

    Hi Everbody!

It's been raining overnight, I think the Government should order everyone to run in a clockwise direction, and see if we can't turn the country upside down, then I'll get some sunshine and the Tories might also have a chance of the north of the country voting for them! ;)

Thanks for the kind thought, I think, Redruby, my DS2 did it for me last night when he came home! Told you, he's a darling. School organising done, DS2's friend's dad is kindly doing the schoolrun for me, as I can barely move, and I'm glad I accepted his very kind offer as I am very stiff this morning. I will be chasing it up, don't worry, and thank you all for putting up with me yesterday.:A:A

Don't know if much OS will be happening, although it needs to be, I'll see what I can do, I still need to fill the baking tin, as I never got that done yesterday, and I need to either use or chuck those bananas.

Have a good day, everyone, hugs to Diva, PenPin and Ladygrim, hope yesterday was nice for Cranky, and have an extra , very carefully placed hug from me if you feel the need!
