When I started reading your post I though 'poor lady, duped by another unscrupulous seller hiding behinds pages of terms to deceive the user -- I do hope this ends well', but after just going to the website to see for myself and just having gone through the process on the website I think its quite clear what your signing up to.
After signing up free, you click 'premium membership' where thhe middle of 3 options is:
When you click on that, just a couple of lines below the form for card processing says:
In order to get to this step alot of interaction is required.
I don't see how you can say their hiding behind confusing terms & conditions tbh!
Maybe they have now chaged the layout and wording.....after all....its been over a year since the OP!0 -
Please everyone be aware. If you join this site for a £5 monthly trial, you need to cancel membership within 21 days otherwise you will be stung with a massive £150.00 (near enough) debit from your card. I am in the process of trying to reclaim some money on the grounds that it is a poor dating site. Let's see. My advice would be to join a different dating site.:(0

I have found myself in exactly the same situation as you with this Company. They took the money from my account because they kept all the details of my card on file and used them to take the money for subscription without my consent. My Bank has refunded the money and now I am faced with a threat of legal action.
One thing puzzles me though and it is this :- Nowhere on the initial offer of one month's premium membership does it say that it will automatically take the subscription. That line was on the acceptance E-mail they sent.
I have contacted my Bank and they have refunded my money until the dispute is solved.
I have also tried cancelling my membership but they still send me E-mails.
The company has sent no further E-mails to me about this dispute since I contacted them but the threat of a collection service remains.
I will update you when anyhing else happens but I am still worried about them taking out a CCJ against me because I have never been in trouble with anybody about money.0 -

hi,
I am having a similar experience to you, and as they state there is no customer service dept in the UK who can deal with your query.
In addition they refuse to give you a number to contact them to talk the matter through and only communicate by email.
There is no set procedure for how they deal with so called clients that they treat so badly.
How can this company be shut down?
In addition how can we get our money back, I am too fighting with their customer service to no avail and now they have threatened legal action through a debt collection agency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone help please?
Do we not have rights as consumers in the UK?
Can this company be listed as a scam so that this can be stopped?!!0 -
Can you please stick to one thread rather than resurrecting every one that's had similar discussions!hi,

I think Autumn12 all the other posters will be long gone, it's a very old thread. But you should try to find somewhere you can post a review of the site. If thet get enough negative feedback it may stop people joining.
Stick to the free site, PoF is the biggest to start off with. Or look on here there's a long long thread about Internet dating., join the discussions there.
This is going to take you a long time if you want to read the lot, but join in and see how many others have been conned.
