Hi. Martin has asked me to tell you that I'm the Board Guide on the The Most Popular Chat Tips Ever Board board, which means I'm a volunteer to help the board(s) run smoothly, and I can move and change posts there. However, do remember, board guides don't read every post. If you spot an abusive or illegal post then please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert (it's not part of my role to deal with abuse). Recover £1000's..... The Small Claims Route Is A Godsend For The Layman
I'm your average 'Jo Blow'... pay taxes, keep my car legal, pay my way, work hard. But just recently... looking at the cases I've taken through the Small Claims Route... I noticed that around the year 2000 something must have snapped.... I stopped, took stock and decided I was not just going to pay up and put it down to experience.
Either I'm just unlucky or there is an endemic stink that pervades our service industries. But I cant beleive that I am the only Mr / Mrs Average out there who is (in my case, was) being ripped off.
From my own perspective, what I have learnt is that if I feel I have been treated unreasonably or what has happened to me has been ureasonable, if it gets to court, that is what The Small Claims Court has confirmed. The whole premise of the Small Claims Procedure is based on one word, Reasonable If you keep that word in the back of your mind you cannot loose. However what is reasonable to one person ...etc..etc
Since I started to bite back my wins include...
Flightbookers Ltd Sep 06
Vauxhall Motors Sep 03
Lenster Motors Jan 05
Thomson Holidays Mar 06
British Gas July 06
to name a few, including private prosecutions. I have not yet lost a case....and am pursuing Barclays and Capitol One on behalf of one of my daughters.
So, is it just me !!! or are there 10's of thousands of us just lying down and being ripped off ?
Recovered to date including costs £3469.000
