Anyone any idea the recomended mileage for changing the timing belt on a 206 1.4 HDi

Service book says to speak to Peugeot but hoping one of our experts would know.

Thanks

According to my mechanic, mine (206 Roland Garros 1.6) is needing to be changed around 76K,that's for all 206's & will cost around £100.

Is there a time limit as well? I have a friend with a 2002 206 with only 37000 miles and he insists the timing belt doesn't need changing, but I'm not so sure. After eight years it must be perishing, I would have thought.

personally i would not leave it that long.

6 years or 60k would be my limit better to be safe than sorry

    £100/6/365=4.5p per day

    £100/10/365=2.7p per day

    Don't do it = £3000*1/1=new engine.

Sooner rather than later me thinks !

According to google it meant to be every 130k and 10 years but it could be wrong. I would make a quick ring to a local dealers to confirm. Cam-belt are not worth risking.

My 106 1.5 diesel cost more than that for the waterpump and belt kit alone, then coolant, and probably a couple of hours labour.
    Change every 60k.

My 206 GLX 1.4 had it done at 30K miles according to the service history. My recent service I had done said it doesn't need doing again until 80K.

    Change every 60k.

quote is probably belt alone and for 1.6 8 valve they are very easy to change in under an hour.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
