AND. Orange keep on going on about popups on their opening page, they're one of the main bloody culprits for doing it!!!!!!!!
Not happy since they've taken over.[/QUOTE
Brilliant to hear that i'm not paranoid after all.- I thought it was just me they didn't want to know anymore.
I couldn't agree more:mad: and have you tried to contact them? smoke signals would be quicker and more
productive.
I was never very impressed with wanadoo but this orange shower dont give a stuff about customers:rotfl: --only advertising revenue.I'll be dumping them as my isp, very soon:p
I set up 2 fsmail addresses with them and in less than 6hrs,before i'd even used them, i was swamped with spam. Now that cant be spammers-more like orange having sold the addresses on immediately.
Orange sucks--and the taste is very bitter

If you're looking for a new ISP I would recommend Freedom 2 Surf (f2s). I took out a monthly contract with them (rather than be tied in for 1 year) and 14 months later I'm still with them! It's peace of mind for me knowing that I can cancel with just one month's notice.
Also, there is no spam with f2s. The only reason I had spam on one of my accounts is because one person I know sends out to a large distribution list and doesn't BCC the contacts. Consequently spammers picked up on this when some idiot repied to a stupid e-mail by forwarding, which gave the spammers everyone's address on his contact list.
Why oh why don't people BCC their distribution lists?
Anyway, you get 20 e-mail addresses on f2s so I just cancelled that one and set up new ones... and I set up an address that I only use with that one person - just in case it happens again!
Hope this helps.

Ghost wrote:I received a year's free trial with http://www.spamjab.com/ and it did exactly what it says on the website - it stopped spam 100% in it's tracks.
There's no software to download as it intercepts the spam at source. After the year they offered the service for a fee but I didn't subscribe as I'd changed my e-mail anyway.
I've looked on the website today and they are still offering the service for free to new subscribers. In fact I might sign up again! Would definitely recommend it.

thanks ghost--it looks good-does it do two addresses??;)0 -
If you set it up as a 'family account' yes, I believe it will screen several addresses (well it used to, but that may have changed by now). Best to set it up with your most important address first and any more are a bonus, or you could register more than once with a different address (I think!).
When setting up, you used to have to do it via manual registration, but I notice that they now offer easy registration (using ActiveX) which I imagine takes a lot of the hassle factor out (although it's not really a hastle to do it manually).
Further info from their website:Does Spamjab work for AOL email addresses?
- Unfortunately AOL uses a closed email system, which does not allow SpamJab to access its email servers. If you want to get rid of all your spam then the only option we can offer at the moment is for you to take a new email address from a different provider and then register that address with us. You could then gradually phase in the use of your new email address and phase out your AOL one.
- At the moment Spamjab can only filter POP3 email addresses. If you have an HTTP account (e.g. Hotmail) or an IMAP mailbox and you wish to be informed when we support these mailbox types please email support@spamjab.com
