I made the mistake of leaving BT for TT. As I'm out of contract, I would like to move to O2 or some other phone and BB provider. My problem is with TT's broadband. The speed and dropped connection is driving me around the bend. This has been a problem ever since I moved to TT.
I contacted O2 earlier today and they told me that they were unable to take over my line as I was on a TT line. I thought it was a BT line but paying my line rental to TT. Anyone any suggestions on how to get back to a BT line without an 18 month contract with BT?

Idnet, http://www.idnet.net/solutions/home/phone/ , click on The Small Print link for LLU transfer details. May cost around £40, may be free but it's 1 month contract.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

thanks for the link, deklan. Sadly, they are unable to take over my line from TT. They are willing to try but don't hold out much hope and it may cost up to £85-£90 for a new line.0

Sorry to hear that. Did they give a reason why it would be difficult? I know others have escaped using this route before.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

I had the same trouble. In the end I went back to BT for Line Rental and Anytime calls for £11.54 x 3 months and £16.53 x 9 months.
I added o2 Broadband Prem for £10 month (up to 20 mbps) as I have an o2 Mob. (I went via Quidco and awaiting £50 CB and also got £50 mob credit deal at that time)
O2 Home phone couldn't take over LLU to LLU at that time.
I got the o2 BB added to my bT line within the following week, Tiscali/TT was removed from my line system the same day so I could order o2 BB immediately.0

I went with virgin, £150 cash (£120 available atm)
cost me £20/mo without a phone line (who needs one in the days of mobile phones ?)
 A real fast 10mb connection for £7.5 month :-)0

Because my line is with TT and not BT.
I'm confused now. Idnet used to convert LLU voice lines back to BT and you can get broadband from whoever you like.
Maybe things have changed though. If you're desperate to avoid BT and want a definitive answer register over at http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?board=1.0 and post in the Home Phone Discussion. You do get good advice there and this post confirms they do LLU transfers - http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=10872.325“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

            deklan, thanks for your input!
A pal suggested that I switch to the Post Office. They have a 30 contract and then, if I wanted to, switch to another provider. Going to contact them later today.0

I left Talk Talk (not line rental) just basic package phone only in March
I am now with Primus and use BT for line rental
I use another ISP for internet which is adsl2 and its LLU0

That's good news. Interesting to find out if they can swap you over keeping the same number free of charge.
More digging about idnet, http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/idnet/3835250-voice-package.html?view=collapsed . Maybe lines got crossed.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0
