Ryanair 'Unknown error' -prepaid mastercard

Twice now I have been thwarted from using my FairFX eurocard to get card fee-free flights with Ryanair due to the above message appearing at the point of confirmation. As I do not have another prepaid mastercard, I have had to instead use another type of card to pay and as such have incurred the associated fees. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how did they get around it?

I have had this problem, but it was my own fault. I had entered my card number incorrectly (2 of the digits transposed). I suggest you make absolutely sure you are putting in the right number.
Of course, a message saying "incorrect number" would have been more helpful!0 -
It has happened to me..
I booked 1 flight and then tried to book another a few minutes later & got the same error message as you.
All I did was log out clear the browsing history / cache etc then log back in & it accepted the card.0 -

The same thing has happened to me with a Fair FX card a few times. I just gave up and tried later and then sometimes it worked. Anyone would think Ryanair don't like Prepay Mastercards!0 -
Same problem, tried later and it worked. Just out of interest is your Fx balance JUST above the amount you are trying to spend?0
