Car hire abroad + documents

Hi all,
Last year I went to Majorca on my hols and wanted to hire a car - I lost my green counterpart licence so applied through the DVLA for a replacement, and received a new photocard and paper part.

Im going away again next month, and somehow managed to lose the new green counterpart, but found the old one I originally lost.. DOH!

So, when the car hire company in Majorca asks to see my licence, will they accept the old counterpart + old photocard (both still in date), or do they check your details with the DVLA as officially I shouldnt have these old documents anymore..

I don't really want to spend another 20 something pounds on replacing it again, but also dont want to get out there and get refused the car hire.

Cheers

If all the dates are ok, I doubt very much that you will have any problems with the car hire company.

If you have an accident, however, the police might make more rigorous checks.

Oh, and report to this thread at once...

I've always struggled with that! Edited ;)

I had a quite serious car accident in Spain. The police did check my licence, but they seemed more impressed with the number of vehicle groups I am entitled to drive than anything else written on it.
