Hello all
I have today bought an LG 2.1 speaker system which includes a dvd player, and have managed to hook it up so that it plays the surround sound whilst dvds are playing. What I would like to do, and the main reason I purchased the system, is to be able to use the system whilst watching TV through my SKY+ HD box.
Can someone please explain (as simply as possible
) how I can hook up the two systems to get sound playing while I watch TV?? I'm not sure if it is relevant, but I have a Samsung TV.
Any help is greatly appreciated !!
Thank you !!!!!!

Model of speakers?
Model of TV?
What interconnects are you currently using for the DVD and Sky+ box?
I will assume you are using HDMI for both, in which case if your speakers have an optical input and your television can do the 5.1 passthrough correctly (not many can), then simply take the optical out from your TV and pump it in to the speakers.
At this point, whatever audio is coming from your TV speakers will also be fed to the Logitech's.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

SKY HD boxes dont allow 5.1 down HDMI cables (Which I think is a complete p*sstake):idea:0 -
OP ~ whats the model numbers of the tv and the LG?:idea:0

TV: Samsung LE32B350
Home Theatre: LG - HT253DD
From reading other sites it seems I need to place an optical cable from the SKY+ HD BOX "Optical Out" port into the home theatre system. However I can't see where this would go into the system as it doesn't appear to have an "Optical In". I have read on reviews of the product that you CAN get SKY+ HD hooked up though. Very frustrating !
Please help if you can!

Your knackered for connecting the tv (Your quite right about the optical as thats the only output the samsung has)
So all you can do is plug the SKY HD into the player via phono cables:idea:0 -
So I need to get myself some phono cables to hook up Sky to the LG? Will that give me digital sound?0

No, theres no digital input on your LG
All youll get is standard analogue stereo:idea:0 -

PS
Can't find accurate specs on your DVD system.
One site says it has optical in, other sites make no mention.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
