  • Been waiting for ages for a decent offer to join Sky, managed to sign up yesterday too with no problems although did so online, have recvd confirmation email for full package and HD £29 / month first 12 months! Just hope the order doesnt get cancelled if its only open to emplyees of Centrica. Thanks to the OP.

    Should be fine cardshredder. Did the same a while ago and it generated a code. Phoned up sky, quoted the code (didn't work for the company and was never asked for where I worked etc) and they were doing free HD for the yr as well as half price!

    After ordering, I received an email last night saying that someone from Sky will contact me to verify some details for the order can proceed. This, I assume, is probably because there's an existing Sky account at the address in question.

    I didn't get a call and I was getting impatient. So I called Sky, quoting my order number.

    Operator was very nice. She didn't actually say why the order couldn't complete online though. She verified my name, address, required package, discount and installation date. She said "I see you've used an offer code which would have been given to you by someone who works for Sky, is that right?". With this, I thought the game was up. "Yes", I replied. "Ok, that's no bother. Your new Sky account number is xxx, your job reference number is xxx, if you need to change your installation date call 08442414414. That's all done for you.".

    I don't expect the £160 from Quidco which has tracked, not only because I used an offer code but because now the order hasn't completed wholly online. Still, at least it's confirmed.

    I applied for this offer & have received my confirmation.
    Also signed up for quidco & it is showing £160 validated. I haven't used quidco before so am unsure what this means!! Does it mean the money has been paid??

    My dad's box has just gone Kaput could I apply for this in my name even though his account is still active at his address (he can't cancel just yet). Also he can't cancel his current internet deal will this make a differance?

    I spent 3 hours on the phone last night trying to get this deal. I had the code from the original post and site but when I tried to book the deal it said I needed to call sky...
    The outcome is I have cancelled SKY and will go to either Freesat or Virgin (have cable phone with them)
    I was told this is an offer that nearly everyone at SKY knew about and could see on the system but were unable to add to my account, I was finally told it was for family and friends of SKY employees only!
    if as an existing 12 year customer I wanted HD it was full price "as I had had an offer when I joined"
    Told them where to go and gave thm 30 days notice, i didn't bother them.
    I will wait untill after the WC and get the wife to take it up in her name, you appear to get nothing for loyalty from SKY

    My friend had a similar experience a couple of months ago. She wasn't getting anywhere with the guy she spoke to so she finished the call and phoned back, got a different advisor who gave her a free Sky HD box/installation for being such a good customer
