What's going to happen to the people who got the free accounts before it went invite-only? Do they stay as they are without a 20 hour limit?
  • There is no mention that I can find about us free users changing to the new system, which I would they would tell us about in an email?

Hopefully its just a marketing ploy to get some new users

Existing free users will not change and if you get an invite you can still have the free, unlimited version. The new new open to anyone, limited to 20 hours account is in addition to the existing ones.

There's a table on the site that shows what you get for each version and it shows both free and open so assuming free accounts are staying for now at least. The Open version is basically limited to 20 hours per month and you don't get the radio feature. As far as I can tell you still get access to all the songs though. Suppose if you wanted it for longer you could always try setting up multiple accounts.

You don't need an invite for the Open version, just sign up and the download the software.
  • Thanks, that's kind of useful. I've ben using we7.com quite a lot, but it doesn't have some stuff I want on it that Spotify does. Shame about the limit though. Can free users who were invited still give out invites? My brother has on of the original free accounts, but he swears he can't invite anyone any more.
So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
    Hope sharing saves some pain.

Think it's only the paid up who can invite now.
