TEE HEE! WATER CHARGES REDUCED BY £204 a year

in Water bills
:T I recently applied for a water meter from Southern Water for my first floor flat. They sent a surveyor around to check out whether my premises were suitable for a meter. The guy was here 2 mins and decided that it would be too expensive for them to put one in, so I was a little downhearted as we are hardly here in the week and have no kid or garden. The bill was over £400 a year. Today I got a letter to say that under the Water Industry Act 1999 they are able to offer an assessed measured charge to people wo cannot have a meter providing they don't use a sprinkler or other unattended garden watering device. This is based on the number of bedrooms.
As a result they have credited us with £80 and reduced our charges, saving us £204 a year!
Probably a better result than a meter!
Yippee! Will help make up for the hike in gas and electricity!:rotfl:

Hi
Could not fit a water meter in my flat - so a couple of years ago they gave me a reduction of approx 25%.
I notice they do not advertise this service - probaly loses them too much money?
Good old South West Water :T0
