Morph3us - find a way of keeping your girlfriend warm then
Got thermos mug for Mr EL from Robert Dyas in the end - this morning I was shocked and stunned that a) he used it straight away, b) he boiled an egg on the hob with some of the boiled water from the kettle, c) he stored the just-boiled water in the thermos for me to use before I go to work!
Loving this thread - and we've still lasted with no heating - Brighton is not too cold yet and candles seem to be adding a nice glow and keeping that flick of the button away a day at a time...MFW #185

check health and safety regulations - if i remember correctly, by law, if the temperature falls below a certain amount (in the building i mean) they *have* to stop work, you're not allowed to work if its that cold. (ironically no such "upper" temperature limit exists - they can fry you, but can't freeze you.. lol).. I don't remember what that lower limit is but if you take a thermometer into work with you, you can prove its going below the level and request that they put the heating on a bit later.
hope that helps!

I think it's 16 degrees - which is quite low for me. I don't like anything below 20 degrees.0

I have just popped across the road to see a neighbour for a minute. She is married and they both work, she is about 35. Her heating is on and she had ONE croissant cooking in the oven.
I am just gobsmacked. Oh well! live and learn come to mind0 -

Do you mean one croissant warming in the oven?
The thing is if you only want one croissant, is it money saving to warm more than one?0 -

I find it makes them chewy. But maybe it's just me being fussy. :rolleyes:0 -
Alternatively, you could do some baking at the same time.0
