Hi There,
Having just purchased my 1st home :j, I had a 2nd look at the moneypit and I need some help. Can anyone tell me in this day and age what I would expect to pay (and what companies i should avoid) for 8 double glazed sash windows (I live in greater London if this makes a difference).
Thanks in advance....

You'll get loads of massively varying quotes depending on the quality of the window you are looking for and the quality of the suppliers/installers. You're best bet is to get as many quotes from reputable local double glazing firms as possible. Do you're research on windows cause I can assure you, you will be hearing an awful lot of BS and sales pitch crap. Don't accept the first quote. Make sure you get multiple. The bigger firms are probably a rip off as well. I've heard bad reports about safestyle uk and the quote from Everest I got was so high I didn't know whether to laugh or faint.0

Have a look at this site for certified local installers http://www.fensa.org.uk/FENSAHomeownerHome.aspx0

I get there will be a massive difference in all quotes but I want to know what I should expect to pay for sash windows, particularly as i know they tend to be more expensive.
I am on a bit of a timing schedule as I need this info to decide whether to replace the old ones and then do the other works or just tidy up the current windows and wait.
Thanks0 -

If your after proper box sash windows they will be more than that!!
Regarding your comment, average price of a window is ..... there`s no such thing as an average!!
Window qualities vary considerably, and so business/fitters..etc..
My tip, as a fitter myself of over 20 years, go off recomendations, knock on your neighbours doors and ask them..
I know it`s london, but surely they`ll tell u!!0
